Easiest Way to Cook Bacon

Bacon. Bacon is so wonderful. Especially when you buy bacon from happy pigs without nitrates and better yet, without sugar. I absolutely love Pederson's.

There are a number of ways to cook bacon, but typically they result in a mess on the stove. Pan frying in a cast iron skillet is so delicious, but the mess! So, for years I have been baking our bacon in the oven.

I typically bake 2 packages at a time, because who doesn't love leftovers? In fact, the protein and fat in bacon makes for a pretty fantastic pre-workout snack.

  

Baked Bacon
Prep Time: 5 minutes
Cook Time: 15+ minutes
Servings: varies

Ingredients:
1-2 packages of bacon

Instructions:
Turn oven on to 425°f. Line baking sheets with parchment paper. Add a single layer of bacon strips on baking sheets. Even if the oven isn't completely pre-heated, add pan to oven on the middle rack. If baking two pans use both racks. At 15 minutes* check desired crispiness, add 2 minutes each time you check until the bacon is to your liking.

*If the top rack is more done than the bottom rack, rotate from top to bottom at the 15 minute mark.

Drain the grease from the bacon to serve. Reserve grease to use as a cooking fat later on.
