2 Ways to Reverse Dry Skin

DO YOU SUFFER FROM DRY SKIN?

Tis the season... for dry skin (legs, arms, hands, feet, scalp, face, etc). Or is it? We often associate colder weather with dry skin. I recently saw a post asking about *the best* lotion for dry skin. Sure there are great lotions on the market, but most are full of fragrance, parfum, parabens, BHA, retinyl palmitate, and triethanolamine.

Honestly, I probably lost you after fragrance. The best lotion I have ever found is by Beauty Counter* so if you need a recommendation, let me know.

However, instead of looking for a symptom fix we should be asking, WHY do I have dry skin? So let's start there.

DEHYDRATION
You're not drinking enough water, or your body isn't utilizing the water you are drinking.

1. Drink the water. Half your body weight in ounces, but if that formula equals more than 128oz (a gallon) - stop there. We don't need to flush the minerals out of your body, just hydrate.

2. Add some mineral drops or a pinch of sea salt with a squeeze of lemon to your water. << THIS is what will hydrate you.

FATTY ACID DEFICIENCY
You're not eating enough healthy fats or you're not digesting the fats you are eating.

1. Eat the fats. Eggs, avocado, nuts, seeds, nut butters, grassfed butter or ghee, fish, chicken thighs, olives, coconut, coconut oil, avocado oil, olive oil, etc. Consider taking a good quality fish oil supplement as well.

2. Ensure proper digestion. Eat in a rested state. I'm not kidding here. Actually sit down, take a breath or two, be grateful for your food, and slowly chew your meal. If you need further support, consider a digestive enzyme, biliary, or liver support. Ask your practitioner for a recommendation, if needed!

Ahem! I may know a practitioner who knows a thing or two about supplements. I offer exclusive discounts and free shipping at $50 from the Primally Balanced Dispensary on all supplements.

*I am not a Beauty Counter rep, but I know a few. Let me know if you need a contact.
