Two simple ways to address headaches and migraines.

Headaches are a symptom. Migraines are a symptom. They actually mean something. Taking a pain reliever may alleviate the pain right now, but what is that pain reliever doing to your liver and gut microbiome? ❌ Nothing good. In fact, it's encouraging leaky gut and liver congestion, that are in turn causing your digestive upset, skin conditions, hormone imbalances and so on.

A more important question to ask yourself is why do you have the headache in the first place?

A huge factor could be poor fatty acid digestion, or lack of fatty acids in the diet. Are you on a low fat diet? Have you had your gallbladder removed? Do you have diarrhea after eating fats? Do you have dry flaky skin? These are all signs of low or poor fatty acid digestion.

Another factor is dehydration or imbalanced electrolytes. How much water do you drink per day?

Your headaches may also be hormonal. Did you know if you're deficient in fatty acids and are dehydrated your hormones will take a hit? Yep. It's all connected.

These are obviously not the only contributors to headaches, but they are the majority. As always, if you have a persistent condition - in this case headaches - please discuss with your primary care physician to rule out any serious conditions.

Two very simple ways to prevent, reduce or reverse a headache or migraine...

FATS
Consume fats when you are in a rested state, and if you experience digestive upset you may need a good quality digestive enzyme (this is my favorite, which also includes HCl for protein digestion). Another great option is a good quality fish oil (I love Wiley's Finest EPA).

🍃 NTP Tip: When you have a headache bite a fish oil capsule for better immediate absorption!

HYDRATION
Drink half your body weight in ounces of filtered water. If you drink caffeinated beverages, drink that much more water. Including good minerals in your water will help balance electrolytes (Try ConcenTrace by Trace Minerals).

🍃 NTP Tip: If you have a headache add a pinch of sea salt to your water.

Other options that may provide immediate relief:
➡️10 tablets of Biotics Intenzyme Forte on an empty stomach - reduces inflammation and pain
➡️A drop of peppermint essential oil rubbed into the scalp, base of the neck and behind the ears
